About the experience
At the Turistgården, Jacco is responsible for the kitchen, preparing meals based on Swedish, local and organic ingredients.
In the forest, Daniel Modigh, certified nature guide and founder of Särna Adventures, guides the group on a relaxed hike to the Brudslöjan waterfall.
Together they create a weekend where food and nature go hand in hand.
The group is small (maximum 8 guests), creating a personal and friendly atmosphere throughout the stay.

Program

Day 1 – Arrival and dinner
You are picked up in Mora and transferred to Särna.
On the way, we make a few selected stops to enjoy the surroundings, stretch the legs and have a Swedish fika. This also gives a gentle introduction to the landscape and the area.
After check-in, a three-course dinner is served at the guesthouse, prepared with local and seasonal ingredients.

Day 2 – Guided hike, outdoor cooking and dinner
After breakfast, guests are taken to the starting point of the hike.

The trail leads through old-growth forest, where tall trees and soft moss create a quiet and timeless atmosphere. We follow a small forest stream as it winds through the landscape, and pass traces of old summer farms, giving a glimpse into the history of life in this remote area. The experience includes quiet moments in nature, inviting you to slow down, listen to the sounds of the forest and take in the calm and silence of the Swedish wilderness.
During the hike, lunch is prepared together over an open fire with Daniel. The focus is on simple, well-prepared food in a beautiful natural setting. Guests are also introduced to some outdoor skills, such as making a fire and preparing food over an open flame.
For those who wish, there is also the opportunity to take a refreshing swim near the waterfall, a unique and memorable way to experience the Swedish wilderness up close.
The day is spent outdoors at a calm pace, with time to rest, enjoy the surroundings and connect with nature.
In the evening, we return to Turistgården. There is time to relax and enjoy the sauna before a three-course dinner inspired by the forest and the season.

Day 3 – Breakfast and departure
After breakfast, guests check out and return to Mora.
On the way back, we make a few final stops for short walks, views and a last fika in nature. Arrival in Mora is around midday.
